Tonight’s lineup (maybe the Mets will score a run)

Posted: July 8, 2009 in Mets

Here it is, folks. The lineup for the Amazingly Futile Mets….
Alex Cora, SS
Daniel Murphy, 1B
David Wright, 3B
Gary Sheffield, LF
Ryan Church, RF
Jeremy Reed, CF
Brian Schneider, C
Luis Castillo, 2B
Oliver Perez, P

The story tonight will be how Perez fares in his first start since early May. He was horrendous before being shelved, so hopefully the time off let his knee heal and he can make a contribution going forward. He’ll oppose the Dodgers’ Hiroki Kuroda, who could become the latest pitcher to morph into Cy Young when opposing the Mets. I won’t be around the computer for most of tonight and tomorrow, so maybe my absence will bring the team some good luck.

  1. They DID score a run, and some extras too which they needed. Heckuva game!

  2. Andrew Sodergren says:

Yeah, caught the game from the fourth inning on last night. Some signs of life, although Ollie still looks a mess. I really want to see Murphy and Evans much more than Tatis, I feel Jerry has seriously messed with Murph this year. Don’t know if he’ll ever be a star, but I believe he can be a solid regular if they played him every day (like they were in April).
