Dodgers 8, Mets 0

And that’s four straight losses for the Amazin’ Mess of Omar Minaya’s creation.
Not only are the Mets losing, they’re barely putting up a fight anymore.
It’s pretty sad when your team falls behind 1-0 and as a fan, you feel the game is over.
But that’s exactly what’s happening lately, for this team can’t score to save its life.
They’ve now gone 22 innings without scoring and have a grand total of three runs over the last four games. No extra base hits since Friday’s loss.
This team is terrible right now, and Minaya keeps on sitting on his thumbs and doing nothing. He says he doesn’t want to mortgage the future, but couldn’t he make a little move, just anything that may show the sinking team that the front office is trying to help them?
I’m no fan of Jerry Manuel’s managing style, but he’s really got his hands tied.
But tonight wasn’t just about the hitting woes. Needing a fantastic start from Mike Pelfrey, he came up with a dud. One particular sequence in the second inning spelled doom for the Mets. With runners on second and third and two outs, Pelfrey pitched way too carefully to Rafael Furcal before walking him. Then he walked Orlando Hudson on a 3-2 changeup. A changeup! Pelf has got a great power sinker, it’s the pitch he’s got the best command with, and they throw a changeup there? Disgusting. Manny, who would later be ejected for arguing a called strike three, stuck around to drive in three runs, including a two-run bloop single in the second to follow the bases-loaded walk to Hudson.
This team is lifeless, and I feel fortunate I live in Florida right about now. I feel bad for the poor souls that have to pay the ridiculous CitiField prices to see this joke of a squad. 39-43 and sinking. At this rate, it won’t be long until this team is closer to the Nats than it is the Phillies. Do something Omar!!!!

I am sorry to see the Mets sucking so much right now. If only the Red Sox could suck this bad all the time. 🙂

Hey, at least your team has a great shot at the playoffs. My team will be watching them on tv again.
